Lahemaa National Park celebrates 40th Anniversary in 2011
20.04.2011
There is a bundle of activities going on to celebrate Lahemaa’s 40th year as a national park. Founded in 1971, it was the first national park in Estonia, in Baltic States and even in the former USSR. Lahemaa National Park is Estonia’s largest and also closest to Tallinn. It is home to permanent communities of bear, wolf and lynx and edged by deserted beaches and small fishing villages.
The peak of the celebrations arrives on May 29 with big festivities in Palmse manor.
